Key Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous therapies including IV antibiotics, antifungals, steroids, IVIG, iron infusions, hydration therapy, and specialty biologic medications
- Perform and maintain peripheral IV insertions, central venous access devices, PICC lines, ports, fistulas, and implanted or intrathecal infusion pumps
- Administer blood and blood product transfusions and conduct therapeutic phlebotomies
- Provide patient education and teaching for self-administration of medications
- Deliver chemotherapy and oncology infusion treatments in an outpatient setting in accordance with ONS standards
- Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
- Minimum 2 years of current experience in outpatient oncology and infusion nursing
- Chemotherapy Certification (ONS) and Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) credential required
- Demonstrated experience with peripheral IV insertion and port, fistula, and catheter access
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
- Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- IV Certification highly preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Completed de-escalation training through an approved provider (e.g., Welle, CPI, or PMCS)
