Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems.
- Assess physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients and families, synthesizing data into a cohesive plan of care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care outcomes and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care.
- Identify and address discharge planning needs, cultural and ethnic considerations, and patient/family education in coordination with multidisciplinary resources.
- Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe and secure hospital environment.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA or ARC.
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Experience in an emergency department or acute care setting.
