Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 42-bed intensive care unit encompassing Neuro/Med, Cardiothoracic, and Surgical/Trauma ICU populations
- Manage complex patient diagnoses including strokes, sepsis, cardiogenic shock, respiratory failure, CHF, post-STEMI, cardiovascular surgery, and major trauma/post-operative cases
- Operate and monitor specialty equipment including IABP, CRRT (PRISMA/NxStage), ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and targeted temperature management (Arctic Sun)
- Float to other units as needed, excluding Behavioral Health and the Emergency Department (unless holding)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based critical care in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of New York
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience (ICU, SICU, CTICU, Trauma ICU, MS ICU, or Neuro ICU)
- Travel nursing experience required
- Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
- Proficiency with CRRT and Prismaflex required
- Epic EMR experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 4–5 years of ICU experience strongly preferred
- Cardiac/heart experience highly preferred and prioritized during review
- Experience with IABP, ventriculostomy, ICP monitoring, and targeted temperature management devices
