Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (primary) with rotating evenings based on departmental needs | 3x12 or 4x12 hours | Every other weekend required | Holidays required as scheduled
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting for patients across all age ranges, from infant to geriatric
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients presenting with a wide variety of complex, multi-system diagnoses
- Maintain a patient assignment ratio of 1:4, with the possibility of up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
- Float within the Emergency Department specialty and to sister ED facilities as needed
- Adhere to all departmental scheduling requirements, including rotating night and evening shifts, every-other-weekend commitments, and required holiday coverage
Required Qualifications
- Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license at time of submission
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
- Current BLS certification – American Heart Association only
- Current ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
- Current PALS certification – American Heart Association only
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for patients across all acuity levels and age groups in a high-volume emergency setting
- Comfort with floating within scope to other emergency department locations without restrictions
