Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness using the nursing process
- Administer medications safely and in accordance with applicable state practice standards and facility policies
- Read and interpret telemetry rhythms every 4 hours utilizing an electronic health record system
- Clinically manage patients with multi-system conditions including renal diagnoses, utilizing drips such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Heparin
- Manage patients requiring oxygen modalities including Trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and Nasal Cannula
- Serve as a point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members and family caregivers
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice or covered by compact licensure
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
- Dysrhythmia Exam required prior to start (study guide available)
- Ability to work night shifts in a 28-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry and Renal unit with typical patient ratios of 1:4–5
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis)
- Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Health Record system
- CCRN or PCCN certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
