Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend, Every Other Holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop individualized plans of care, implement treatment interventions, and evaluate treatment effectiveness for critically ill patients
- Perform nursing care associated with life-supporting technology including ventilator management, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO, as well as hemodynamic monitoring
- Clinically manage critically ill patients presenting with multi-system organ failure, multi-system trauma, neurological, cardiac, and post-surgical conditions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments and for family members or caregivers throughout the patient's stay
- Administer medications safely and consistently in accordance with state practice standards and applicable policies and procedures
- Float to PCU, Med/Surg Telemetry, or ICU patient assignments as needed based on unit census and acuity
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a compact license
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required
- Active ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification required
- Dysrhythmia exam required prior to start (study guide available)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with advanced modalities such as IABP, EVD, ICP, transvenous pacing, CRRT, Swan-Ganz catheter management, and ECMO
- CCRN, TNCC, TCRN, PCCN, or RN-BC certification
- Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
