Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend and Every Other Holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness using the nursing process
- Safely administer medications and manage IV drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, and Heparin, with ability to titrate as needed
- Provide care for a mixed medical/telemetry patient population including cardiac rule-out, CHF exacerbations, pre/post cardiac catheterization patients, and alcohol detox patients
- Serve as point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, collaborating with interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families
- Monitor and manage patients with PICC lines, ports, JP drains, occasional stable chest tubes, and chronic tracheostomies
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and act as a patient safety advocate within the unit
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required prior to direct patient care
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required
- NIH Stroke Certification required
- Dysrhythmia Exam required (study guide available)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; this position does not accept local candidates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization patient care
- Familiarity with Alaris infusion pumps and EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- CCRN or PCCN certification preferred
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
