Opportunity:

Job Details:
• Work 3x12 hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6 on days and nights, must be able to handle 1:6 ratio
• 1 year of Med Surg experience required
• Must have experience with EPIC documentation system
• Experience with assigned shift type (nights) preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), CPI
• Must be comfortable with bedside shift report and proactive patient rounding
• Responsible for titrating drips including Heparin, Bumex, and Lasix
• Care for diverse patient population including pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, respiratory conditions
• Manage post-surgical patients from orthopedic, general surgery, spinal surgery, and urology procedures
• May float to IMCU for Med Surg assignments
• Weekend and holiday coverage as needed
• Call requirement for low census/cancellation situations
• Navy blue scrubs required
• 1.5 shifts orientation provided
• Emphasis on teamwork, answering call lights, and working collaboratively with CNAs
• 3 shifts cancellation policy per 13 week assignment
• BSN not required
• First time travelers accepted
Facility:
This acute care facility features a 38-bed medical surgical unit providing comprehensive care for adult patients with diverse medical conditions and post-surgical needs. The facility maintains a Level 3 trauma designation and offers 24/7 support services including respiratory therapy, cardiac monitoring technicians, and nursing supervision. The organization utilizes EPIC charting system and maintains structured staffing with dedicated charge nurses and nursing assistants to support patient care delivery.
