Job Details:
• Work on a 38-bed medical surgical unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6 for both days and nights
• Must be able to handle 1:6 patient ratio consistently
• Mix of day and night shifts available from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• Weekend and holiday coverage required as needed
• 1.5 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Minimum 1 year of medical surgical experience required
• Must have experience with EPIC documentation system
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), CPI
• Must be comfortable with bedside shift report and proactive patient rounding
• May be required to float to IMCU for medical surgical assignments
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Call requirements include low census/cancellation situations
• Must be able to titrate drips including Heparin and set rate drips like Bumex and Lasix
• Care for patients with various diagnoses including pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, and post-surgical patients
• Work with nursing assistants at 1:8-1:10 ratios and cardiac technicians available 24/7
• Expected to demonstrate teamwork by helping answer call lights and working collaboratively with CNAs
• First-time travelers acceptable with appropriate experience
