Job Details:
• Work 3x12 hour day shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM
• Weekend and holiday requirements as needed
• Must maintain nurse to patient ratio of 1:5-6 with ability to take up to 6 patients
• High turnover on day shift - discharge patients will result in new admissions
• Minimum 1 year of medical surgical experience required
• Must have experience with EPIC documentation system
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC) and CPI
• Must be comfortable with bedside shift report and proactive patient rounding
• Required to titrate drips including Heparin, Bumex, and Lasix
• Care for adult patients with various diagnoses including pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, and post-surgical patients
• May float to IMCU for medical surgical assignments
• Navy blue scrubs required
• 1.5 shift orientation provided
• Call/standby requirements for low census or cancellations
• Must demonstrate teamwork by helping with call lights and working collaboratively with CNAs
• BSN not required
• First time travelers accepted
Facility:
This acute care facility features a 38-bed medical surgical unit that serves as one of the largest nursing specialties in the hospital. The facility operates as a Level 3 trauma center and provides comprehensive medical and surgical services with 24/7 respiratory therapy support, cardiac monitoring technicians, and nursing supervision. The unit is well-staffed with charge nurses who do not take patient assignments and nursing assistants to support patient care activities.
