Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe
• Must maintain 1:2-3 nurse to patient ratio for adults
• Care for trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress patients
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitoring system
• Floating required to PCU and occasionally MedSurg with typical unit ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Must pass open book skills exam on Wednesdays during orientation with 90% or higher
• Work with respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Chart in EPIC system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Valid driver's license required at submittal
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• If placed on call and called back, must arrive within 30 minutes
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
Facility:
This acute care facility features a 33-bed intensive care unit with an average daily census of 16 patients. The facility operates as a Level 2 trauma center providing comprehensive critical care services. The ICU is supported by nurse aides based on census needs, healthcare support technicians three days per week, and telemetry technicians for monitor oversight. The facility maintains high standards for patient care and utilizes modern equipment and technology to support complex medical cases.
