Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM or night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Self-scheduling for core staff with travelers added in as needed
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe
• Nurse to patient ratios of 1:2-3 for adult patients
• Must hold valid driver's license and live outside 50-mile radius
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Must pass open book skills exam during Wednesday orientation with 90% score to continue
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove leads to contract termination
• Care for trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress patients
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitoring system
• May float to PCU or Med/Surg units with appropriate patient ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
• Work with respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilators
• Use EPIC charting system
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• If placed on call and called back, must arrive within 30 minutes
Facility:
This acute care facility features a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16 patients, operating as a Level 2 trauma center. The facility provides comprehensive critical care services with nurse aides available based on census, healthcare support technicians three days per week, and telemetry technician oversight. The organization maintains high standards for patient care and implements strict policies to ensure quality outcomes in their intensive care unit.
