Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Minimum of 2 holidays required during contract timeframe
• 1:2-3 nurse to patient ratio for adults
• 33-bed ICU unit with average daily census of 16
• Care for trauma, cardiac, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker placement, stroke, vascular cases, renal failure, heart failure, and respiratory distress patients
• Required to titrate drips including cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Must read, interpret, and document telemetry strips using GE monitoring system
• Float to PCU and occasionally MedSurg with typical unit ratios (1:4 or 1:5)
• Work with respiratory equipment from nasal cannula to ventilators
• One shift of unit-specific orientation provided
• Pass/fail exam on Wednesdays during orientation with 90% required to pass
• Must arrive within 30 minutes if called back from on-call status
• Chart in EPIC system
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Driver's license required and must live outside 50-mile radius
• Artificial nails prohibited - refusal to remove results in contract termination
• Cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility
