Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Oncology Acute Tele T6 unit with 32 beds
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• At least 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks
• Holiday coverage based on unit needs
• Required to pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed)
• Must complete pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation
• Complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (pass/fail)
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Chemo certification preferred
• Navy scrubs required
• Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Must have own vehicle for travel
• Cerner EMR system and Phillips telemetry equipment
• Responsible for EKG interpretation
• Charge nurse role available with light patient assignment as oncology resource RN
• May float to other MedSurg/Tele units
• 2-day floor-specific orientation
• Care for 85% oncology patients and 15% telemetry medical-surgical patients
• Work with BiPap and CPAP ventilation equipment
• 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available
• SWAT RN available for difficult IV access
