Opportunity:
Neuro Tele RN
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks
• Holiday schedule based on unit coverage and permanent holiday rotation
• 1:4 patient ratio on 32-bed Neuro Telemetry unit (5NNB and 7NNB)
• Must have Level 1 Trauma experience and 2 years of nursing experience
• Neuro experience highly preferred
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (2 attempts allowed)
• Must complete pass/fail SIMs Lab on day 1 for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Must be able to interpret EKGs and work with central telemetry monitoring
• Must be competent in titrating drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin drips
• Float to telemetry units and telemetry overflow in ICU
• 2 days of floor-specific orientation provided
• Work with Cerner EMR system and WOWs (workstations on wheels)
• Steel gray scrub color required
• Must have natural hair color, no facial piercings, and men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Travel teams must have their own vehicles
• Care for patients with diagnoses including trached patients, CVA, TBI, spinal surgery, encephalopathy, ESRD, psychiatric issues, and brain tumors
• Fast-paced, high turnover unit with average length of stay 4-5 days
• Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment

This healthcare facility is a Level 1 Trauma Center providing comprehensive acute care services. The facility features a specialized 32-bed Neuro Telemetry unit with central monitoring capabilities and maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services. The organization operates with Cerner EMR systems and provides SWAT RN support for difficult IV access, ensuring high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
