Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend requirement: every other Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Monday
• Holiday rotation with core staff as scheduled
• Nurse to patient ratio: 1:2, sometimes 1:3 in ICU
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA)
• Preferred certifications: PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
• Two years of critical care experience required
• Travel experience required
• ICU experience with CRRT and IABP preferred, Impella experience preferred
• Required to titrate drips including Levophed, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Heparin, and Insulin
• Floating required to Stepdown, Med-Surg/Telemetry, or Emergency Department as needed
• Care for critically ill patients with complex needs including sepsis, acute MI, renal patients, post vascular procedures, strokes, TIA, seizures
• Manage invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, lumbar drains, ARDS with ventilator management
• Serve adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Telemetry monitoring required with RNs reading strips
• Two 12-hour orientation shifts with preceptor provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• Dress code: Navy scrubs (solid color only, no embroidery or patterns), closed-toed shoes required, no Crocs
• BSN not required
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates an 18-bed ICU that will expand to 27 beds. The unit provides comprehensive critical care services with 24/7 hospitalist coverage and available intensivist support. The facility maintains modern equipment including BiPap, CPAP, mechanical ventilation, telemetry, IV pumps, sequential compression devices, and specialty beds. Respiratory therapy services are readily available, and the organization is working toward having RT stationed in the ICU 24/7.
