Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts with variable start times: 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, or 3:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement (Saturday and Sunday)
• Holiday requirements: 2 out of 3 holidays minimum for winter needs, otherwise every other holiday
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3-4 during day, higher ratios at night after 11:00 PM
• 2 years emergency department experience required
• Must have Michigan license in hand
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC
• Floating requirements to inpatient units for assistance
• Dress code: any solid color scrubs, clean and professional
• Orientation includes computer-based training and 2 days floor orientation
• Handle variable patient diagnoses including traumas, STEMI, strokes, hunting injuries, MVAs
• Work in 14-bed emergency department with 2 trauma bays and 3 fast-track rooms
• Triage responsibilities available after policy review and understanding
• Must clock in and out at facility
• BSN not required
Facility:
This healthcare facility operates a Trauma Level IV emergency department treating 40-60 patients daily on average. The facility features a 14-bed emergency department with 2 trauma bays, 3 designated fast-track rooms, and 2 triage rooms. The facility provides 24/7 emergency physician coverage, respiratory therapy services, phlebotomy, and X-ray capabilities. CT services are readily accessible, and the facility utilizes both holding areas within the ER and attached ACU rooms for overflow situations.
