Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatment.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of employment or a valid compact RN license.
- Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association only).
- Current ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Telemetry or Acute Med-Surg nursing specialty.
- Ability to complete all onboarding competency validations within designated timeframes.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Prior experience in an Intermediate Care (IMC) or step-down unit setting.
- Familiarity with organizational competency validation processes and tracking software.
