Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day/Night Rotating Shifts | 12-Hour Shifts | Every 3rd Weekend Rotation Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients 28 weeks and over, including those on magnesium, Pitocin, and TOLACs, within a 7-bed LDR unit with triage and dedicated cesarean section ORs
- Circulate cesarean section procedures as required
- Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate nursing interventions for maternal and neonatal patients
- Perform electronic fetal monitoring, vaginal exams, and provide resuscitation and stabilization of the mother/fetal dyad
- Float to mother-baby unit as needed and adhere to AWHONN staffing standards
- Document patient care using Epic and Centricity Perinatal electronic health record systems
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state of Virginia or valid compact license
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- Must pass EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) competency exam during orientation
- Ability to circulate a cesarean section
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Epic Electronic Health Record system
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification or Inpatient OB Certification through the National Certification Corporation
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
