Contract | 13-Week Assignment | 3x12-Hour Variable Shifts (Primarily Nights) | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-risk Labor and Delivery unit, including LDR rooms, OB Triage, antepartum, OR suites, and PACU
- Manage and monitor laboring patients, inductions, and high-risk antepartum cases in a fast-paced environment averaging up to 14 patients including inductions
- Perform OB triage assessments for third-trimester testing patients and incoming triage volume
- Serve in or train toward a charge nurse role as needed by the unit
- Float to like units within the facility or affiliate locations as needed to meet staffing demands
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska RN license (pending license accepted at time of submission; license must be in hand prior to start)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior charge nurse experience in Labor and Delivery
- Experience in high-risk OB or Level II or higher trauma settings
- Familiarity with high-volume triage and antepartum patient populations
