Contract – 13-Week Assignment | 3x12-Hour Rotating Shifts (Primarily Nights) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to Labor and Delivery patients in a high-risk OB unit, including LDR rooms, OB Triage, and Antepartum settings
- Support an average of 7 or more daily deliveries, including inductions and high-risk antepartum patients
- Manage OB Triage patients including third-trimester testing and incoming triage volume
- Utilize Epic electronic health record system for all clinical documentation
- Float to like units within the facility or affiliate locations as needed to meet staffing needs
- Participate in charge nurse responsibilities, with training available for those without prior charge experience
Required Qualifications
- Active Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license accepted for submission; must be in hand prior to offer)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Permanent address must be located at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior charge nurse experience in a Labor and Delivery or similar OB setting
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- Familiarity with high-risk OB environments including OR suites and PACU
