Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients with complex problems
- Perform patient assessments encompassing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs, and synthesize data to determine care priorities
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop, update, and communicate the plan of care
- Perform bedside point-of-care testing and apply healthcare organization standards, policies, and procedures in the delivery of care
- Consult appropriate resources in a timely manner for patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, or high discharge planning risk
- Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
- Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program
Preferred Experience / Skills
- BSN or MSN from an accredited nursing program
- Experience in radiation oncology or oncology nursing
