Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate individualized patient care plans aimed at returning patients to optimal health.
- Provide direct bedside nursing care and carry out medical orders in an ICU setting.
- Delegate and coordinate tasks and assignments for nursing assistants and ancillary personnel, functioning as a team leader to ensure appropriate patient placement and care delivery.
- Identify and communicate patients' ongoing and discharge/transfer teaching needs, participating in planning conferences with appropriate resource personnel.
- Integrate evidence-based knowledge into practice and assume responsibility for ongoing professional growth and development.
- Precept and mentor new employees and students; teach and guide professional and ancillary staff.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan.
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required.
- Ability and willingness to float to the Emergency Department and Step-Down unit as needed.
- Current BLS (AHA) certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- Current NIHSS certification required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Certifications in TCAR, TNCC, CCRN, or SCRN are a plus.
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
- Neurosurgical experience preferred.
- Open heart experience preferred.
