Key Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs, telemetry, and critical patient metrics
- Perform regular patient assessments, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions or life-saving measures
- Administer complex medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as ordered
- Provide specialized care for patients recovering from surgery, cardiac events, or complex conditions including vent and stroke patients requiring neuro checks
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians and therapists to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of nursing care and patient responses; educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit
- Telemetry monitoring experience required
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR required
- Active Michigan RN license required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for neurological patients requiring frequent neuro assessments
- Familiarity with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio environment
