Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, written plans of care based on physiological, psychosocial, and spiritual assessments.
- Deliver patient-centered care focused on patient safety and quality outcomes utilizing clinical pathways, patient education, and evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrate effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR methodology, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Serve as a clinical resource and professional role model, demonstrating leadership through knowledge sharing.
- Manage time effectively and assist team members to contribute to overall unit performance.
- Perform duties consistent with general and unit-specific competency-based objectives as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (LARA and Nursys verification required).
- Minimum 2 years of straight Medical Surgical RN experience (not float, SDU, or telemetry).
- Level I or Level II Trauma experience required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Skills checklist completed within one year of application.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in a fast-paced Medical Surgical environment with diverse patient populations including general surgery, vascular surgery, bariatric surgery, plastic surgery, trauma, and stroke patients.
