**Exciting Opportunity for Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse!**
**Job Description:**
- Start Date: ASAP
- First Time Traveler: Yes
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, to meet staffing needs
- Average Daily Census: 15-20 patients
- Room Count: 11 rooms, 15 beds
- Years of Experience Required: 1 year
- Float Requirement: Yes, to meet facility needs (travelers first to float within their scope)
- California State License: Required
- Pending License: Not accepted
- RTO Restrictions: No more than 7 days
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide exceptional care in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Care settings
- Work with a culturally diverse population, including high-risk obstetrical patients
- Circulate on cesarean sections and assist with high-risk delivery
- Perform sterile vaginal exams, triage obstetrical patients, and support breastfeeding
- Administer medications including anticoagulation therapy, magnesium sulfate, and pain management
- Monitor fetal heart rates and perform APGAR assessments in the delivery room
**Required Certifications:**
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- AWHONN Intermediate (Advanced Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
**Preferred Skills:**
- IV Therapy/Phlebotomy experience
- Ability to maintain central lines (CVC/PICC)
- Experience in amnioinfusion and forceps/vacuum extraction
**Work Environment:**
- Interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
- Engage with a team that is committed to high-quality patient care
- Participate in daily rounds and collaborate on patient treatment plans
