Physical Therapist — Travel Opportunity in Montgomery, AL (Hospital)
Seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to support inpatient and acute care services at a hospital in Montgomery, AL. The role involves evaluating and treating patients across trauma, orthopedic, neurologic, cardiac, post-operative, ICU, and medical-surgical populations. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, flexibility to treat in the emergency department when needed, and willingness to learn local processes and EMR workflows.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
- Active Alabama physical therapy license required to start the assignment.
- BLS certification required from AHA or ARC.
- Experience with acute care preferred. Candidates with less acute care experience will be considered if willing to be trained and coached.
- Experience with Cerner/PowerChart or willingness to learn facility EMR.
- Ability to manage caseloads typical of an acute hospital (facility indicates 10–12 patients per therapist, ~15 units per day).
- Must be adaptable and coachable. Teamwork orientation required.
Preferred Qualifications
- MSPT or DPT degree preferred.
- Prior experience treating trauma, neuro, and ICU patients preferred.
- Previous hospital-based or Level II trauma center experience preferred.
Assignment Details
- Shift schedule: Five 8-hour shifts per week.
- Orientation: Three days in-department orientation plus additional 1:1 support with a Rehab Aide during initial weeks.
- Caseload may include trauma, orthopedics, neuro, MedSurg, ICU, and Emergency Department.
- Weekend rotation: approximately once per month.
- May be asked to assist with coverage on major or minor seasonal holidays per facility policy.
