Occupational Therapist - Travel Contract

Make a meaningful difference as a travel OT in Elk Grove, CA. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to help patients in a skilled nursing facility with injuries, illnesses, or disabilities regain or improve their daily skills while exploring a new location.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Active California Occupational Therapy license required to start the assignment.
BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
Experience working in skilled nursing facility or long-term care settings preferred.
Ability to provide documentation and deliver skilled OT services for rehabilitation and activities of daily living.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous travel therapy experience preferred.
Experience with patient mobility training, ADL retraining, splinting, and adaptive equipment recommendations preferred.

Assignment Details

Shift hours: 0800-1630.
Work schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per shift.
Guaranteed weekly hours: 36.
Candidate may be expected to float to other nearby facilities as needed.

Impacting Patient Care

Provide skilled occupational therapy services in a skilled nursing setting. Support patient independence through individualized treatment plans, ADL training, therapeutic modalities, and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members. Maintain documentation to meet facility and regulatory standards.

Elk Grove is approximately 16 miles south of downtown Sacramento and about a 90-minute drive to Lake Tahoe. The city provides proximity to Elk Grove Regional Park and Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge for outdoor activities, and Sacramento’s Old Sacramento Historic District and the State Capitol are within a short commute. The area supports a suburban lifestyle with shopping centers, dining options, and convenient access to major highways and Sacramento International Airport.
