Physical Therapy Assistant - Travel Contract

Make a real difference as a travel PTA. You will work with patients recovering from injuries or illness, helping them move better, feel better, and stay active under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist. Apply today and a recruiter will follow up with the details.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited educational program.
Active Maine state license required to start the assignment.
BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
Experience working in a skilled nursing facility preferred.
Ability to work with adults in post-acute and long-term care settings preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous travel or contract experience preferred.
Experience with common SNF therapy equipment and documentation systems preferred.

Assignment Details

Shift hours: 0800-1630.
Work days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Guaranteed hours: 35 per week.
Candidate may be expected to float to other facilities as needed.

Impacting Patient Care

Join as a PTA traveler and provide direct patient care in skilled nursing settings. Support rehabilitation goals through therapeutic exercise, mobility training, and caregiver education. Document patient progress and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve measurable outcomes.

Farmington, ME is near outdoor recreation and cultural sites. Farmington is approximately 30 miles from Rangeley Lakes and within a one-hour drive of Sugarloaf Mountain for skiing and hiking. The town features the historic downtown district and is home to the University of Maine at Farmington, offering arts events and local dining within short commutes. The area is suited for an active, outdoor lifestyle with access to nearby rivers and state parks for fishing and paddling.
