Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend requirement
• Rotate holidays with permanent staff
• 3-shift floor specific orientation required
• Maintain 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics, handling minor walk-ins to trauma cases
• Trauma patients are stabilized and transferred via air evacuation
• Pediatric patients transferred out as needed
• Work in 12-bed emergency department with 2 trauma bays and 1 seclusion room
• Fast track clinic with 4 rooms for ESI 4-5 patients
• Handle approximately 70 patients per day
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC
• Must have 2 years of specialty experience AND 1 travel contract
• Strict 75-mile radius rule enforced
• Use MEDITECH electronic medical record system
• Perform own lab draws and IV insertions
• Dress code: Hunter green pants, white top, white jacket
• BSN not required
• No floating between units
• Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
Facility:
This acute care facility features a comprehensive emergency department with modern trauma capabilities and specialized equipment including ventilators. The facility maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy services and utilizes air evacuation for critical trauma cases. The emergency department is supported by one physician per shift and two mid-level providers with staggered schedules, along with paramedics, ER techs, and nursing students who assist with patient care and respond to codes and trauma situations.
