Job Details:
• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 based on patient acuity
• 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week schedule with holiday rotation
• May float to NICU, PICU, and Pediatric Stepdown units as needed
• Guaranteed hours with potential cancellation of one shift per 2 weeks
• 2 years of Pediatric Cardiac ICU experience required
• CV and Pediatric experience required, VAD experience highly preferred
• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
• Required certifications: PALS and BLS (American Heart Association only)
• Preferred certification: ACLS (American Heart Association only)
• Epic charting system experience required
• 12-hour orientation provided
• VAD training required upon arrival to unit
• Care for patients with congenital heart disease, cardiac surgery, heart transplants, and cardiac catheterization
• Work with specialized equipment including ECMO, CRRT, Berlin Hearts, HeartMate3, and Impella devices
• Block schedules available per manager discretion
• Travel pairs not accepted on this unit

This healthcare facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Teaching Facility, and Magnet Hospital with 820 staffed beds. The Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care unit is a 29-bed Gold Beacon Award-winning unit that serves as the referral center for all major pediatric cardiac surgery in the state. The unit has been voted #4 in US News report and #1 in the nation for outcomes, maintaining an average daily census of 26 patients with a blend of cardiac surgical and medical diagnoses. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
