Opportunity:
OB - L&D/PP (Cost Center - 8)
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend requirement of at least 2 weekends per month (Friday/Saturday nights and Saturday/Sunday days)
• Must work into permanent staff holiday rotation
• Potential to be placed on call due to low or high census
• 50-mile radius rule applies - must provide copy of unexpired driver's license
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Must be able to circulate C-sections when OR team is not immediately available
• Care for patients 20 weeks gestational age and up including mag, insulin, pitocin, multiples, and VBACs
• Maintain 1:1 ratios for labor and delivery, 1:4 couplets for postpartum
• Work with 8 total beds: 4 labor beds and 4 postpartum beds, with nursery having 8 crib capability
• Use Centricity FHM System and EPIC EMR
• Scrubs are provided by facility
• 2-3 shift orientation with preceptor on unit
• May float to MedSurg or ER as helping hands if experienced and comfortable
• Handle approximately 350 births per year, 25-30 births per month
• License required for submission, willing to wait for licensing
• BSN not required
Facility:
This acute care facility features a dedicated labor and delivery unit with comprehensive obstetric services. The facility maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy support, has providers and nurse midwives on-call, and offers specialized services including PICC nursing. The unit is equipped with tele-monitoring capabilities and maintains close collaboration with the CCU for strip reading. The facility provides a supportive environment with OB techs available during most shifts and maintains modern equipment including Pyxis medication management systems.
