Opportunity:
6N Cardiac/Tele - PCU (Stepdown)
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday)
• Holiday rotation schedule with permanent staff
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: MedSurg/Tele acuity 1:5 (possibly 1:6 if discharge anticipated), PCU acuity 1:4
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• Must be able to titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg
• Care for cardiac patients including CR bands, post cath, AMI, post-op lung surgeries, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post PCI
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
• Work with 36-bed unit providing higher acuity care than typical telemetry units
• Floating requirements to any MedSurg/Tele units
• Royal blue scrubs required
• No false nails allowed
• EPIC charting system
• Team nursing approach with 1 RN and 1 CNA for 6-7 patients when staffing allows
• Charge nurse available 24/7 (night charge takes patient assignment)
• RT manages CPAP and BiPap equipment
• 50-mile radius rule applies - must include copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract

This acute care facility features a Level 2 trauma center with a 36-bed cardiac/telemetry progressive care unit that provides higher acuity care than typical telemetry units. The facility utilizes advanced cardiac monitoring technology and maintains specialized expertise in cardiac care, post-surgical recovery, and respiratory management. The organization emphasizes team-based nursing care and maintains comprehensive support services including respiratory therapy and monitor technicians.
