Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts with weekends as scheduled
• Patient ratio of 1:3 in an 18-bed Intermediate Medical Unit
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday schedule approximately every other holiday
• No call or standby requirements
• Floating on a PRN basis
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• BSN not required
• Must be able to titrate drips including Nitroglycerin up to 150mcg/kg/min, Neo up to 100mcg/min, and Cardene up to 10mg/hr
• Care for typical step-down patients including post MI with sheath pull, ADHS, postop vascular, GI bleed, and DKA
• Telemetry monitoring on all patients with RNs reading strips
• Work with BiPap and CPAP equipment
• One PCT per shift available for support
• Charge nurse available and typically does not take patient assignment
• Royal scrub color required with white, royal blue, or black undershirts
• EPIC charting system
• 2 shifts cancellation policy per 13-week contract

This acute care healthcare facility features an 18-bed Intermediate Medical Unit specializing in step-down care for patients requiring close monitoring and advanced nursing interventions. The facility utilizes EPIC charting systems and maintains comprehensive telemetry monitoring capabilities. The organization provides supportive staffing with charge nurses and house supervisors available, along with respiratory therapy equipment and patient care technicians to ensure quality patient outcomes.
