Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday requirement
• Nurse to patient ratios: 1:2 standard, 1:1 for higher acuity patients (CRRT, immediate post-op hearts, MTP, OPO), 1:3 for med-surg/floor status patients
• Must have experience with high acuity patients and cardiovascular surgery populations
• Required to titrate drips including epi, norepi, propofol, precedex, vasopressin, dobutamine, heparin, insulin, dopamine, neo, and milrinone
• Must read and document patient rhythm strips independently
• Floating requirements include MICU when not needed in SICU, or patient observer roles within hospital
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS; preferred: TNCC
• BSN not required
• Must complete one day system onboarding/CBT followed by two orientation shifts on unit
• Must complete skills checklist during orientation
• Clean and professional dress code with no specific scrub color required
• Experience with CRRT, IABP, Impella, and ECMO preferred but not required
• Must clock in and out at facility
• Care for cardiovascular surgery patients (CABG, AVR, MVR, AAA), trauma patients, NSTEMI/STEMI, and various surgical patients needing ICU care
Facility:
This healthcare facility serves as the tertiary care center featuring a 16-bed surgical intensive care unit plus 2 additional procedural beds. The facility operates as a Level 2 trauma center with 24/7 intensivist coverage and respiratory therapy support. The unit specializes in cardiovascular surgery, trauma care, and high-acuity patients requiring advanced monitoring and life support equipment. The facility uses Cerner charting system and maintains comprehensive support services including nursing house supervisors available around the clock.
