Job Details:
• Work 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend requirement of at least 2 weekends per month (Friday/Saturday for night shifts, Saturday/Sunday for day shifts)
• Must work into permanent staff holiday rotation
• Potential to be placed on call due to low or high census
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring
• BSN not required
• Must have valid driver's license within 50-mile radius
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Patient ratios generally 1:1 for labor and delivery, 1:4 for couplets
• Must be able to circulate C-sections when OR team is not immediately available
• Care for patients 20 weeks gestation and up including high-risk cases with magnesium, insulin, pitocin, multiples, and VBACs
• Work with 8 total beds: 4 labor beds and 4 postpartum beds (2 labor beds can be used as triage)
• Handle approximately 25-30 births per month
• Use EPIC EMR system and Centricity Fetal Heart Monitoring system
• May occasionally float to Med/Surg or ER as helping hands if comfortable and experienced
• 2-3 shift orientation with preceptor on unit

This acute care facility operates a comprehensive obstetrics and labor & delivery unit with 8-bed capacity including specialized labor, postpartum, and nursery services. The facility provides 24/7 respiratory therapy services, on-call providers including nurse midwives, and maintains modern monitoring systems for high-risk deliveries. The organization supports a range of obstetric services from routine deliveries to complex cases requiring specialized care and stabilization before transport when necessary.
