Opportunity:
OB - L&D/PP (Cost Center - 8)
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend requirements include at least 2 weekends per month
• Friday/Saturday considered weekend nights and Saturday/Sunday considered weekend days
• Generally maintain 1:1 ratios for Labor & Delivery and 1:4 couplets for postpartum
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
• Must have C-section circulation experience as RNs may need to circulate when OR team unavailable
• Care for patients 20 weeks gestation and up including high-risk conditions
• Handle cases involving magnesium, insulin, pitocin, multiples, and VBACs
• Potential to be placed on call due to low or high census
• Work into permanent staff holiday rotation
• Scrubs are provided by facility
• May float to MedSurg or ER as helping hands when comfortable and experienced
• 2-3 shift orientation with preceptor mainly conducted on unit
• Use EPIC EMR system and Centricity FHM System
• Charting completed through TruBridge - Evident system
• Must provide copy of unexpired driver's license within 50-mile radius
• Client may cancel 2 shifts per 13-week assignment and 1 shift for shorter assignments
Facility:
This acute care facility features a comprehensive obstetrics unit with 8 total beds including 4 labor beds and 4 postpartum beds, with an 8-crib capacity nursery. The facility handles approximately 350 births per year and maintains 24/7 respiratory therapy services, PICC nursing support, and on-call providers including nurse midwives. The unit is equipped with telemetry capabilities and maintains modern technology including EPIC electronic medical records and Centricity fetal heart monitoring systems.
