**Dynamic Surgery Nurse Manager Opportunity!**
**Job Description:**
- Lead the Surgical Services Department, including Operating Room, Outpatient Surgical Services, Anesthesia, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit.
- Plan, coordinate, and direct operations and staff (clinical and non-clinical) in a fast-paced environment.
- Evaluate and enhance patient care delivery to promote safety and well-being.
- Coordinate schedules for visiting specialists to ensure efficient OR operations.
- Oversee fiscal, material, and human resource management with accountability for department performance.
- Participate in the development and implementation of innovative hospital policies and procedures.
- Maintain excellent communication within and between departments to enhance collaboration.
- Uphold standards for quality and safe patient care through effective system development and monitoring.
- Drive initiatives aimed at improving patient experience and family-centered care.
- Develop clinical outcome measures for quality improvement and cost reduction, implementing evidence-based practices.
- Cultivate a Culture of Safety by engaging staff in Continuous Quality Improvement practices.
- Stay current with trends and best practices in surgical services, and apply age-specific considerations in patient care.
- Ensure departmental compliance with TJC standards, as well as state and federal regulations.
- Take pride in supporting the organization’s mission and values.
**Position Qualifications:**
- **Education:**
- Completed nursing program from an NLN approved institution.
- BSN required; MSN or Master's in a health care or Business Administration preferred.
- **Experience:**
- Minimum of 2 years in the operating room.
- At least 2 years of surgical services management in a similar setting.
- **Licenses and Certifications:**
- Current Alaska RN license in good standing.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
- CNOR certification preferred; must obtain certification within 6 months.
- CSSM certification preferred.
- **Skills and Knowledge:**
- Familiar with AORN Guidelines and Perioperative Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice.
- Strong cognitive and technical abilities for care management across the continuum.
- Proficient in budget management, coding, and reimbursement processes.
- Solid communication skills for engaging with diverse audiences.
**Supervisory Responsibilities:**
- Oversee OR department staff including nurses, anesthesia personnel, pre-op providers, and OR support staff.
