**Job Description:**

- Join our dynamic surgical team as an Operating Room RN Circulator!
**Key Responsibilities:**
- **Patient Advocacy & Safety:**
- Verify patient identity, surgical site, consent, and history.
- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments.
- Participate in time-out procedures.
- Advocate for anesthetized patients throughout the perioperative phase.
- **Operating Room Management:**
- Prepare the OR suite with necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments.
- Anticipate and respond to the surgical team's needs.
- Maintain aseptic/sterile technique and report any breaches.
- **Intraoperative Care:**
- Manage non-sterile aspects of procedures.
- Handle specimens and document intraoperative events.
- Coordinate with anesthesia, surgeons, and scrub personnel.
- Perform thorough counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
- **Patient Monitoring:**
- Continuously assess patient status, vital signs, and physiological responses.
- Collaborate with anesthesia providers to ensure patient stability.
- Provide comfort measures and maintain a safe physical environment.
- **Documentation:**
- Accurately document nursing care, medications, and patient responses in the electronic health record.
- **Supply & Equipment Management:**
- Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure equipment functionality.
- Participate in cost-effective resource utilization.
- **Postoperative Transition:**
- Assist with patient transfers to PACU or other units.
- Provide comprehensive hand-off reports to ensure continuity of care.
- **Emergency Response:**
- Respond promptly to emergencies, including trauma activations and code situations.
- **Quality & Compliance:**
- Adhere to AORN standards and infection control policies.
- Participate in performance improvement and safety initiatives.
- **Team Collaboration:**
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate flexibility to assist in other perioperative areas.
**Qualifications & Requirements:**
- **Education:**
- Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), BSN preferred.
- **Licensure & Certifications:**
- Current, unrestricted RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required (or obtain within 6 months).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred or required based on services.
- CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) preferred.
- **Experience:**
- Minimum 1 to 2 years of Operating Room experience as a Circulator preferred.
- Experience in a Critical Access Hospital or rural facility is a plus.
- **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, aseptic technique, and perioperative nursing standards.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Commitment to patient safety and teamwork.
