Opportunity:
The Operating Room RN Circulator
Job Details:
• Provide professional nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures as their advocate in the operating room
• Manage overall nursing care in the OR and ensure a safe and sterile environment
• Coordinate the surgical team and maintain accountability for supplies, equipment, and documentation
• Verify patient identity, surgical site, consent, and history while performing preoperative assessments
• Prepare OR suite with necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments prior to procedures
• Monitor and maintain aseptic/sterile technique and report any breaks in technique
• Manage non-sterile aspects of procedures including opening sterile supplies and handling specimens
• Account for all sponges, sharps, and instruments through surgical counts
• Continuously assess patient status, vital signs, and physiological responses
• Accurately document nursing care, medications, implants, supplies, and patient responses
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours surgical emergencies
• Work in resource-limited setting with flexibility to assist in other perioperative areas as needed
• Minimum 1-2 years of Operating Room experience as a Circulator strongly preferred
• Graduate of accredited ADN or BSN program (BSN preferred)
• Current unrestricted RN license or compact nursing license accepted
• BLS certification (AHA) required, ACLS required or obtain within 6 months
• PALS preferred, CNOR certification preferred
• Experience in Critical Access Hospital, rural, or small facility is a plus

This Critical Access Hospital provides essential surgical services to the local community in a resource-conscious environment. The hospital operates with a small, multidisciplinary team that values collaboration and flexibility, offering services including general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, endoscopy, and minor trauma procedures.
