**Exciting Opportunity for a TDY Registered Nurse - Surgery/OR**
**Job Description:**

- As a TDY Registered Nurse in Surgery/OR, you will take charge of delivering exceptional patient care through:
- Comprehensive nursing assessments
- Thoughtful nursing diagnoses
- Meticulous planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Collaborate with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals to deliver quality, cost-effective, and efficient patient care.
- Be a vital resource, especially in critical situations, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Apply age-specific considerations and respect cultural diversity in all aspects of patient care.
- Provide dedicated care for all patients, from birth to elderly, in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative settings.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum Education: Completion of an NLN approved nursing education program.
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
- Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of OR experience.
- License, Certification, Registration:
- Licensed in good standing as a Registered Professional Nurse in Alaska.
- Current BLS & ACLS certifications; PALS certification preferred.
- National Certification in Surgery/PACU preferred.
**Skills Required:**
- Proficient oral and written communication skills.
- Strong cognitive and technical abilities to manage care across various care settings.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing work schedules and ability to exercise independent judgment within prescribed limits.
- Ability to administer treatments, medications, and interpret diagnostic tests while providing education to patients and families.
- Familiarity with AORN standards and medical terminology.
**Additional Skills:**
- LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals and regulations.
- Capability to document care delivery actions and present information effectively.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Proficient in basic arithmetic and ability to interpret graphs and data.
- REASONING ABILITY:
- Able to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions.
**Supervisory Responsibilities:**
- Collaborate with Administrative Assistants, Schedulers, and CSR Techs under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
**Shift Information:**
- Availability for Days and Nights is required.
