Job Description:
The registered nurse in this role will work in a Level 3 NICU, caring for neonates of all gestational ages with various diagnoses including low birth weight and neonatal needs related to high frequency ventilation and total body cooling. The nurse will work in a unit with a 28 bed capacity and an average census of 13-16 patients, using EPIC for charting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates in a Level 3 NICU setting
- Manage ventilators, start IVs, and titrate IV medications
- Attend neonatal resuscitations
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Neonatologists and Nurse Practitioners
- Communicate effectively with families regarding patient care plans
Requirements:
- BLS, NRP certification required; STABLE preferred
- Minimum of 1.5 years of NICU experience
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by the South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Experience with Neonatal Resuscitation preferred
- Current RN license registered with the South Dakota Board of Nursing
