Job Description:
The role involves providing care for complex ICU patients within a 39-bed unit divided into MICU, SICU, CICU, and TICU pods. Nurses will not float to the CVICU unless experienced. The position requires strong critical thinking and assessment skills, comfort with fast-paced settings, and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Provide care for complex ICU patients including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases
- Manage IV medications, hemodynamic lines, and ventilators
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, ensuring comprehensive care
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience excluding travel; 1.5 years may be considered with additional RN experience
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC
- Completion of approved nursing education and Registered Nurse licensure with the South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Experience with Epic charting system
- Ability to work a 48-hour/week contract
