Job Description:
The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing and treating disorders of speech, language, cognitive communication, voice, and swallowing. In addition, this position is responsible for consulting, educating and training patients, families, and caregivers and for collaborating with care teams and stakeholders to deliver quality, patient centered care.
The Primary Children’s Behavioral Health is excited to add another experienced Speech Language Pathologist to our multidisciplinary team.
This is an opportunity for a talented SLP passionate about behavioral health and pediatric care to join a program and team that seeks to support and improve the lives of struggling youth. All children and adolescents in the program have a primary mental health diagnosis (e.g., depression, anxiety, trauma, etc.). The SLP will complete assessments, consultations, establish treatment plans, collaborate with team members, lead social communication groups, provide individual treatment, and make after-care recommendations.
Pediatric Behavioral Health Programming offers multi-disciplinary assessment, evidence-based interventions, and transition planning. Multidisciplinary care teams include social workers, medical providers, psychologists, occupational therapists, teachers, etc. Additional team support includes speech therapists on site and at other day treatment locations.
Based at our Primary Children’s Taylorsville Campus in Taylorsville, Utah. This position is anticipated to be split between inpatient and day treatment which are housed in the same building.
Essential Functions
Provides clinical services, utilizing standards of care and evidence based practices, with appropriate goals, and duration and intensity of service for each patient's needs.
Complies with department and regulatory requirements and guidelines for all types of documentation charging, and scheduling.
Supervises and educates when asked, including colleagues, new employees and students and others in training.
Mentors student clinician externship/affiliations/ new employee(s).
Maintains effective and appropriate communication and relationships with other professionals, patients, families and other caregivers.
Participates in patient care conferences when appropriate, as well as staff meetings and other meetings as required or requested by supervisor.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Communication Disorders/Speech Language Pathology or equivalent
Current licensure in state of practice
ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) Preferred
Preferred Qualifications
2 years Speech Pathology experience.
Feeding/Dysphagia experience.
Experience with the target population to be treated.
Physical Requirements
- Employees need to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
- Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors require employees to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
- If driving is required, current driver's license, insured, reliable transportation, and acceptable driving record

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
$42.66 - $65.82
