Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the Med/Surg unit will provide care to adult and post-surgical patients, as well as those with strokes, oncology, CHF, COPD, respiratory, GI issues, ortho cases, and COVID. Nurses may rarely have a total care assignment due to CNA shortages and may float to various units including Peds and Psych if experienced.
Responsibilities:
- Care for post-surgical, stroke, oncology, and critical care patients.
- Manage chest tubes, trachs, PICC/midlines, central lines, foleys, NG tubes, and wound vacs.
- Conduct dressing changes and manage ostomies.
- Monitor tele patients and collect data as necessary.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Med/Surg setting.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; must pass tele exam during compliance; PALS preferred.
- Experience with pediatrics and psychiatry is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system.
