ER RN Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience required
- BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certifications preferred
- Strong clinical skills in emergency care, professional communication, conflict resolution, time management, and organization
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care and family support within the full scope of ER nursing practice
- Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate emergency care programs and services
- Collect observation data, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Coordinate patient movement and staff assignments as charge nurse when needed
- Receive pre-arrival reports from EMS and coordinate with triage for walk-in patients
- Collaborate with House Supervisor, ward clerk, provider staff, ED techs, RNs, and crisis evaluators
- Maintain high standards of care in a 29-bed Emergency Department, including 5 psych-safe rooms
