Main Purpose of Job
This position serves as the Chief of the External Audit Division and reports to the Maryland Office of the Inspector General for Health's Assistant Inspector General. This position directs, plans, schedules, and manages audits associated with Local Health Departments (LHD) and private providers of human services receiving funds through MDH. This position is responsible for ensuring that human service providers are audited every three to four years and to meet this mandate it supervises a staff of 8-10 professionals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and at least 5 years of professional work experience performing financial or compliance reviews and audits; writing and reviewing audit reports; and, a minimum of 2 years supervising a multi-tasked staff. Additional professional experience as defined above can substitute on a year for year basis for a bachelor's degree.
