Basic Function
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent - Business Services or assigned administrator, assist with planning, organization and control of the district budget; prepare financial and budget reports required by the State, administration, federal agencies and the Board; perform complex auditing, budgeting, accounting and analysis of budget and financial information and procedures; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel.
Essential Functions
Perform research and direct the preparation and maintenance of a variety of financial and statistical reports, records and files related to assigned activities and required by the State, administration, federal agencies and the Board; complete annual budget and interim financial reports and required County forms
Provide technical expertise, information and assistance to the Director, site staff and others regarding assigned budgets, local school accounting and related programs
Assist with the development and control of the District's budget in collaboration with the Director Business Services
Maintain and prepare the multi-year projections report to assist the Director in developing the State multi-year projections (MYP) form. Assist Director in completing state forms
Supervise accounting and budgeting, including the year end closing, of all reserved funds which includes deferred maintenance, buildings, capital facilities, lease purchases, school facilities and other special reserve funds
Collaborate with administrators on budget and financial reporting and internal control applications
Develop and monitor school site budgets as assigned by the position to assure compliance with program funding guidance and regulations; coordinate and assist Principals with site plan budgets and expenditure inquiries, and related matters
Evaluate and project annual income and expenditures to determine budget requirements; project revenue and fund balances for new fiscal year; allocate revenue to resources according to established guidelines; analyze budgetary data and provide administrators with recommendations concerning budget development, projections and administration
Train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel; monitor and adjust work flow and assignments to meet established timelines
Assist in the formulation and development of policies, procedures and programs to ensure an economical, safe and efficient work environment
Assist with the review of budget expenditures for assigned programs and inform administrators and program managers of spending levels and budget activity
Work with Principals, program managers and budget managers to resolve budget questions, and requisition and time sheet issues; monitor and follow-up on resolutions
Perform difficult and responsible accounting duties such as coordination of year-end closing, review and authorizing journal entries, budget transfers and
