Responsibilities
What you'll do as a Hospice Nurse Practitioner (NP) - PRN:- Provide face to face encounters for identified patients required for admission certification and recertification within the regulatory timeframes.
- Performs history and physical assessment to address the appropriateness of admission, medications required and self-administration status, and identification of special conditions and/or care required.
- Collaborate with designated registered nurse coordinating visits to ensure timely and efficient services.
- Collaborates with referring physician concerning assessment findings, diagnostic and therapeutic measures.
- Ensures regulatory compliance of all clinical practices with all federal and state regulations governing hospice agencies, organizational policies, and billing compliance within the scope of practice of the nurse practitioner.
- Prescribes medication and therapeutic measures for pain and symptom management, within bounds of the Nurse Practitioner Act. Experience prescribing Schedule II medications (preferred).
