Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based critical care nursing for a 20-bed ICU, maintaining a 1:2 patient ratio
- Manage ventilators, ICP monitoring and advanced hemodynamic monitoring for critically ill patients
- Assess, intervene and collaborate quickly during emergencies using ACLS and BLS protocols
- Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) as staffing needs require, providing seamless patient care across units
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (Meditech Expanse experience preferred)
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients and families to optimize outcomes
- Participate in orientation and ongoing competency validation to keep skills sharp and current

Requirements
Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN license in-hand (facility will not pend license) - required
- Minimum 2 years of current Critical Care experience - required
- Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications - required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification - required
- Willingness to float to PCU as needed - required
- Traveler must have own vehicle and upload permanent address with profile - required
- One supervisory signed reference from within the past two years and current work history - required
- Meditech Expanse experience - strongly preferred
- TNCC and BSN - preferred but not mandatory
Education
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN considered with strong critical care experience
- Current RN license in Massachusetts required
Knowledge & Skills
- Advanced ventilator management and ARDS care
- Intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring and neurocritical care basics
- Hemodynamic monitoring, titration of vasoactive drips, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
- Proficiency with Meditech Expanse or similar EHRs for charting and medication administration
- Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making in high-acuity settings
- Effective interdisciplinary communication and patient advocacy
- Familiarity with ACLS algorithms and NIHSS stroke assessment
